WAR CRIMES AND CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY  IN OGADENIA.

Deep in the throbbing heart of horn of Africa there are many wounds some
have healed others become less painful with the relieve of progress but
there remain a few which continue to bleed and call for remedy and one such
is the plight of the people of ogaden in the hands of the brutal regime of
Ethiopian tigray. and as they struggle against malignant black colonialism
which has lasted for nearly 100 years like some vile pestilence this
domination brings only torture mutilation and death and from it flows an
anguish stream of refugees who leave behind the bodies of their relatives
hidden away from international community by catafalque of international
indifference yet this wretched ogadenis have every bit of human as that
enjoyed elsewhere the rights to decide there own destiny.
despite the united nation's principles of which we hear so much that war
crimes and crimes against humanity should be compacted.
Ogadenia are victims of long cover-up brought about by misrepresentation,
fear of antagonism and lack of voice strong enough to reach the ears of the
human family but to hide a scandal is not to cause it to vanish but rather
it exercisable by adding the affront of disregard. furthermore while
laudable efforts have and are being made to address the root causes of this
atrocities and the flight of the indeginous ogadenis from their native land.
it is being estimated thousands were killed in ogadenia few months ago in
the so called "crack down Against  ONLF"  hundreds of women  were hanged
from trees and another hundreds of school going    children were maimed to
prevent them to become potential ONLF fighters. A number of  deserted
villages  were burnt down and as a result thousands were displaced by
fleeing the brutality of the regime.
United nation's fact finding mission that visited ogadenia to investigate
all the atrocities found out gross violation of human rights abuses that
were committed by zanawi"s men.
though this occupation has not started now it dates back to 19 century when
the British protectorate handed over ogadenia to Ethiopia as a result Berlin
conference.
history books were written and remain that way ever since but on the other
hand diverse culture,religion,race,social and political life remain apart.
ogadenian people are ethnically somalis,embrace islam and have close
economic ties to somalia while the rest of ethiopia have their economy
together.
Indeed, for those who wish to take the case further the road may be odious,
there may be weighty objection, numerous excuses jerry meandering of records
much pressure subvert or overt but in the believe that justice will prevail
something must be done irrespective of success or failure which may attend
the start.
it is my conviction that here is a problem fundamental to the essence of
humanity and delay in approaching it should not mean to understood that it
is incapable for a just and proper solution for if we are not part of the
solution today then we will be part of the problem tomorrow.
